One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving is DEFINITELY the leftovers! I always love trying new fun things with them and this year’s recipe might be my favorite. It sounds bizarre but I promise you will love it. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
2 teaspoons Dijon Mustard
3 leaves sage, finely chopped
6 slices sharp cheddar cheese
Leftover turkey
Good quality bread
1 teaspoon butter
In a skillet over medium heat melt the butter
In a small bowl mix together the pumpkin puree, Dijon, and sage leaves until combined
Spread the mixture onto 2 slices of bread
Add the slices of cheese onto each side and top one with the turkey meat
Top with the other sliced bread and put onto the preheated skillet
Cook on one side until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes, and flip over to do the same on the other side
That’s it! The easiest and very different Thanksgiving leftover sandwich that will be your new favorite!
