These easy to make doughnuts will be a HUGE hit during the Holiday season. They’re so delicious and full of flavor. Oh, and they’re baked…so that means you can have more than one. Right?

Ingredients

Scale

Doughnuts

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries, chopped

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. First thing you want to do is preheat your oven to 350 degrees F
  2. In a bowl mix together your dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt
  3. In another bowl mix together the eggs, sour cream, sugar, melted butter, vanilla, fresh orange zest, and chopped cranberries
  4. To the wet ingredients add the dry ingredients and mix together until just combined
  5. Spray your doughnut pan with a little nonstick cooking spray and fill each hole 2/3 of the way
  6. Put them in the oven and let them bake 12-13 minutes until cooked through
  7. Once those beautiful babies are cooked through dump them onto a wire rack (or your counter) and let them cool slightly while you make the glaze
  8. In a bowl add the powdered sugar and add only tablespoon of the orange juice at a time while stirring. You want the glaze to be slightly thick so it will stick on the doughnut
  9. Dunk the doughnut into the glaze or drizzle the doughnuts with the glaze. I like to add a little more fresh orange zest onto the top
  10. That’s it! A delicious Holiday breakfast treat that really takes no time to prepare but seems so special. Enjoy!
