Looking for a pie this Fall that isn’t just the boring old pumpkin, apple, or pecan? Ok, those are delicious too- BUT this one is even better! I’ve team up with my friends at Wewalka to bring you this spiced up pear pie. It’s warm, comforting, easy to make, and will be your new Fall favorite. Making crust is my least favorite part of baking so using Wewalka pie crust makes this fancy pie easy. Trust me, you’re going to LOVE it.

Ingredients

Scale

10 cups sliced pears (about 810 pears depending on the size of the pears)

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup all purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

1/4 teaspoon ground clove

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 tablespoons butter

23 sheets pre-made pie crust (I ONLY use WeWalka)

Egg wash

Instructions

In a pan over medium heat add the sliced pears, brown sugar, flour, spices, and butter

Let the pears cook down, stirring often, for about 5-6 minutes. Let them cool completely

Preheat your oven to 425 Degrees F

Add a sheet of the pie dough to a 9 inch pie pan and gently press down

Add in the cooled pear pie filling

If you’d like to make a beautiful lattice for the top (which I recommend!!) watch my video! I also love using pie crust leaf cutters as a border

Once you have the lattice on top done put it into the freezer to chill for 10 minutes

Take out of the freezer, brush with an egg wash, and put into the preheated oven

Let it bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees F, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees F and bake another 40 minutes. If you find that the crust it getting too browned, lightly tint with foil and continue cooking

That’s it! You won’t even believe how delicious this pie is. I have a feeling it will be your new Thanksgiving favorite!
