Ingredients

Scale

Scones:

2 3/4 cups all purpose flour

3 tablespoons sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 stick butter, cold and cut into pieces

1 cup + 2 tablespoons half and half

1 teaspoon orange zest

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup fresh cranberries

1/4 teaspoon white chocolate chips

Heavy cream for brushing

Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

45 teaspoons fresh orange juice

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a sheet tray with parchment paper

In a bowl add the flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir to combine

Add in the chilled butter and use your fingers squish the butter and flour together so no large pieces of butter remain

In another bowl add the half and half, egg yolk, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Mix to combine

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir to combine

Once combined add in the cranberries and white chocolate chips. Stir to combine

Pour the dough out on the sheet tray

Dust your hands with a little flour and form the dough into a circle about 1/2 inch thick

Flour your knife and cut the round into wedges

Brush the top with heavy cream and put into the preheated oven to bake for 17-20 minutes until a slight golden brown

Once cooked let them cool slightly before making the glaze

To make the glaze mix together the powdered sugar and a teaspoon of the fresh orange juice at a time until a good drizzling consistency. You don’t want it too runny or too thick. Once it is just right drizzle it over the scones and serve! Happy holidays!
