Ingredients

Scale

2 cups all purpose flour

4 tablespoons cold butter, cut in cubes

1/4 cup sugar

2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

3/4 cup whole milk

1/2 cup cherries, pits out and cut in half

1/4 cup sliced almonds

Cream for brushing on the top + sugar to sprinkle on top

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F

In a bowl add the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cubed cold butter. Mix together by rubbing the cold butter in between your fingers until all the large chunks have broken down. You can also use a pastry cutter if you’d like

To the bowl add in the almond extract, vanilla extract, fresh cherries, almonds, and milk. Mix until combined

Pour the dough onto a parchment paper lined sheet tray and pat down to form a circle about 1 inch thick

Using a knife that you dust with flour cut the circle into even wedges

Brush the top with some cream, sprinkle with sugar, and put into the preheated oven

Bake about 20 minutes until a beautiful golden brown

Let them cool slightly before eating
