Do you love delicious dinner rolls but are way too intimidated to try and make them? I felt the same way for many years. Yeast can be a beast and just not cooperate properly. I’ve teamed up with Fleischmann’s® RapidRise® Yeast to bring you the best ever (and SUPER easy) dinner roll that even YOU (yes, you) can make. Don’t believe me? Give it a try!

  • Author: Blakely Trettenero
  • Yield: 12 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
2 to 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 (2-1/4 tsp.) packet Fleischmann’s® RapidRise Yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped fine
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped fine
2 teaspoons fresh basil, chopped fine
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup water

2 tablespoons butter

4 cloves garlic

1/2 teaspoon salt

Fresh grated Parmesan

Instructions

In a bowl combine 3/4 cup flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and herbs until combined

In another small bowl add the milk, water, and butter. Put it into the microwave and microwave on high for 15 second increments until very warm but not hot. It’s always best to measure with a thermometer- you want it between 120-130 degrees F. If it is too hot it will kill the yeast and not rise!

Add the liquid to the flour mixture and beat either by hand or with a stand mixer for about 2 minutes

Add in another 1/4 cup flour and beat another 2 minutes

Stir in the the remaining 1 1/4 cups flour until a ball forms

Pour the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until it is smooth and elastic and springs back when lightly pressed with 2 fingers- about 6-8 minutes. Cover the dough with a towel and let it rest for 10 minutes

Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces. Now, if you want to make them fancy (which, hello. Why not?) watch my video on how to make these extra gorgeous with the twist look. If you want to go the traditional route which is totally delicious too- just shape them into balls using your hand and put into a greased 8 inch round pan

Cover the dough with a towel and put in a warm place to let rise until they are doubled in size, about 30 minutes

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F

In a small pan over medium high heat melt the butter. Once melted add in the minced garlic with a little pinch of salt. Cook until the garlic is fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Take off the heat so the garlic doesn’t burn

Brush the tops of the rolls with the garlic butter and grate fresh Parmesan on the top

Bake for 20 minutes until a beautiful golden brown

Once cooked, brush the tops with the remaining garlic butter and serve

How easy and delicious is that?!
