Ingredients

Scale

Doughnuts:

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

3 tablespoons good quality cocoa powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup whole milk

1/4 cup canola oil

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup very hot water

Chocolate Ganache:

1/4 cup heavy whipping cream

1 tablespoon butter

3/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

White Chocolate Chips

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F

In a bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt until combined

To the dry ingredients add in the milk, canola oil, egg, vanilla extract, and hot water

Once the batter is combined pour it into a ziplock bag and snip a small corner off

Fill a greased doughnut pan 3/4 way full with the batter and put into the oven

Let the doughnuts bake for 7-9 minutes

Once cooked, turn them out on a cooling rack, and let cool

In a microwave safe bowl heat up the heavy whipping cream and butter for about 45 seconds in the microwave

To the bowl add the chocolate and vanilla extract. Keep stirring until the chocolate has melted and it’s silky

Dip the smooth side of the doughnuts into the chocolate ganache and set aside

In another microwave safe bowl add 1/2 cup white chocolate chips. Microwave for 30 seconds, take it out and stir it, and put back into the microwave for another 15 seconds. After the additional 15 seconds it should be melted. If not do another 15 seconds in the microwave

Put the white chocolate into a ziplock bag and cut a very small piece of the corner off

Pipe circles onto the top, making sure not to overlap

Using a knife or toothpick, gently take the sharp edge and run from the center of the doughnut to the outer side, creating a line. Keep doing this the entire way around the doughnut

That’s it! How cute and easy are these spooky doughnuts. You might want to double or triple this recipe! They will go fast
