Homemade Peppermint Bark

This easy to make Holiday treat is one of my favorites because not only is it delicious but it can also double as a gift! Happy Holidays!

Ingredients

111 oz bag of dark chocolate
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
111 oz bag of white chocolate
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
Crushed candy canes

Instructions

The first thing you want to do is melt your dark chocolate. In a microwave safe bowl add the dark chocolate and put into the microwave. Cook for one minutes, stir it, and put in back in the microwave and cook in 15 second intervals stirring well until melted completely
To the melted chocolate add the peppermint extract and give it a good stir
Pour out the chocolate onto a parchment lined sheet tray and spread evenly to your desired thickness
Put it into the refrigerator to harden for 15 minutes
In the meantime melt the white chocolate. In a microwave safe bowl add the white chocolate and put it into the microwave. Cook for 30 seconds, stir it, and put in back in the microwave and cook in 15 second intervals stirring well until melted completely
Add the peppermint extract to the melted white chocolate and pour it over the harden dark chocolate
Spread it evenly over the dark chocolate and sprinkle the top with crushed candy canes
Put it back into the refrigerator to let it set up for about 45 minutes
Break by hand into large chunks and serve. That’s it! A festive holiday treat everyone loves. Happy Holidays!
