First thing you want to do is make the simple syrup. In a small pan over medium high heat add the sugar, water, cloves, and cinnamon. Stir to combine

Let the simple syrup come to a simmer and cook for about 2-3 minutes, until all of the sugar has dissolved. Take it off the heat and let it cool completely

In a shaker muddle a pint of blackberries 

Strain the simple syrup into the shaker and then add the bitters, bourbon, and ice

Put the top on and shake until chilled

Strain into a glass with ice and top off with the unsweetened tea
