Cranberry Old Fashioned
There’s nothing better to me than a festive Holiday cocktail. With the Holiday season in full swing that means there’s no shortage of cranberries. Take advantage of them by making this delicious cocktail! I like to make a large batch of the simple syrup and have it in my refrigerator at all times… just in case. Cheers!
Ingredients
Simple Syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 cup fresh cranberries
Cocktail
1/2 ounce Cranberry simple syrup
2 dashes bitters
1 orange slice
3 ounces Bourbon
Instructions
The first thing you want to do is make your simple syrup
In a small pan over medium high heat add the sugar, water, cranberries, and cinnamon stick. Let it come to a simmer and cook about 10 minutes, or until all of the cranberries start to pop
Once the cranberries have popped turn off the heat and let it cool completely
In a shaker with ice add the simple syrup, bitters, orange, and Bourbon of choice
Shake vigorously until chilled and strain into a glass with an ice sphere
Garnish with an orange zest and cranberry. Cheers!
