Ready to impress everyone at your Halloween party?! These surprisingly easy and VERY spooky Deviled Eggs recipes is the perfect Halloween appetizer! People will die over them….

  • Author: Everyday Gourmet with Blakely

  • 6 eggs (boiled and cooled)
  • 1/2 cup boiling water + 1 tablespoon vinegar + 20 drops black food coloring
  • 1/4 cup Mayo
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Neon green food coloring

  1. In a bowl mix together the boiling water, vinegar, and black food coloring until combined
  2. Using the back of a knife or fork crack the shell of the egg all over but still keeping it intact. (See video for help)
  3. Add the eggs to the dye and let soak for 5-7 minutes. Turn them once if they’re not fully submerged
  4. Once they’ve soaked long enough peel them carefully under running water
  5. Once all of the eggs have been peeled cut them in half longways, putting the yolk in a bowl, and putting the eggs on a plate
  6. Mash the yolks with a fork until there are no large chunks
  7. Add the mayo, hot sauce, salt, and pepper and stir to combine. If you want the yolk to be thinner add more mayo until your desired constancy
  8. Add as much or as little of the green food coloring as you’d like to desired color
  9. For easy piping I like to add the yolk mixture to a ziplock bag, snip a corner of the bag, and pipe the mixture into the eggs
  10. I love to serve with fake spiders on the plate for an extra spooky effect. Happy Halloween!
