There's nothing better to me than a festive Holiday cocktail. With the Holiday season in full swing that means there's no shortage of cranberries. Take advantage of them by making this delicious cocktail! I like to make a large batch of the simple syrup and have it in my refrigerator at all times... just in case. Cheers!
Simple Syrup
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
Cocktail
- 1/2 ounce Cranberry simple syrup
- 2 dashes bitters
- 1 orange slice
- 3 ounces Bourbon
Instructions
- The first thing you want to do is make your simple syrup
- In a small pan over medium high heat add the sugar, water, cranberries, and cinnamon stick. Let it come to a simmer and cook about 10 minutes, or until all of the cranberries start to pop
- Once the cranberries have popped turn off the heat and let it cool completely
- In a shaker with ice add the simple syrup, bitters, orange, and Bourbon of choice
- Shake vigorously until chilled and strain into a glass with an ice sphere
- Garnish with an orange zest and cranberry. Cheers!
